In Austria male sperm may be cryopreserved and kept for a lifetime in a licensed clinic. We offer that type of individual service. The sperm samples may then only be used for donors future medically supported fertility treatment.
Typically these arrangements are used in cases where sperm cells have been extracted from testicles or the epididymis, or before the inception chemo- or radiotherapy, or often as an insurance in cases of dangerous sports or activities. But even if none of these reasons applies, such an arrangement might be worthwhile.
In cases where there is complete male infertility, semen of an anonymous donor can be used for insemination purposes.
Voluntary individuals donate their sperm for treatment. These men are screened for HIV, Hepatitis B+C, Syphilis and Chlamydia and only after discrete, half year further screening, will the sample be cleared for treatment. Thereby the sample, that has been processed in the lab, can be used with utmost security.
